I was tagged by mummifiedtimesfive.net to do this interesting alphabet meme.

Rule #1: Copy all the links below and replace a single link under the appropriate letter of the alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an “A,” you’d replace the link under that letter and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.

Dani’s birthday party is approaching fast, he’ll be 9 Friday and the party is Saturday. I already bought some plastic plates and napkins from WWE for the boys and Kitty for the girls. He invited around 30 kids (ouch!!) and I still don’t know how many are going to attend.

I can’t believe he’s almost nine, time just goes by so quickly.

He’s in a new phase already, he’s talking back to us, specially to dad causing a stress situation because he’s not the one in charge and we have to tell him that. Sometimes he accepts other times he just continues talking back.

I searched for some information about this behavior and I found this article at ParentCenter - Talking back: Why it happens and what to do about it that contains useful information regarding this.

I understand that he’s growing up and wants to have his opinion, and make is opinion the right one, but sometimes he abuses and talks in a nasty tone that we can’t allow. We’re not afraid that he’ll stop loving us therefore we can’t hesitate in these situations. Of course we should keep a natural tone of voice and this is one think I’m not good at. After trying to explain why things are not the way he wants, I usually speak loud and most of the times it works.

I know that lifting the tone of my voice shows my irritability, my nervous side but I can’t control myself. Each child is a case, some children just obey at the first warn, others don’t.

Of course we’ll get over this, I always keep on my mind that teen age will be worse and that worse issues will be coming in future years.

I posted this picture on my other blog and it’s amazing the number of traffic it drove to the blog. It really is a beautiful picture that’s causing impact in some readers. Also that post is the post with the most number of comments I ever had on that blog.

I’m publishing it here so that the readers of this blog can appreciate it. The text I have with this picture on the other blog is:

I received this image on my office email, and although the day was not going the way I liked it to go, this photo made my day.

I’m not very fond of cats but this photo made me smile. It’s beautiful and transmits a serenity and calm I need sometimes.

Some interesting things around my feed reader:

  • Lisa wrote a post about a Autism that everyone should read and participate. You just have to watch the video and the band the Five for Fighting will donate $0.40 to Autism Speaks.
  • Thank you Elizabeth, your post Getting it “all done” is so true. There is always something missing, I really want to get everything done but sometimes (or most of the time) it’s not possible no matter how much I really try .

My son’s birthday is next week and I pop up the question: What do you want has a birthday present? The answer: Ratatoulli PS2 game and go to Disney World. For those living in Europe, like we do, going to Disney World in Orlando - Florida is only in dreams.

I made that comment with my new co-worker and she told me that with Dialaflight a UK company a cheap flight to Orlando is easy to find. I checked the site and I was really impressed with the amount of information they have available. We can book flights, hotels or even hire a car.

Going to Orlando would be a dream come true, see Disney World, all the theme parks, night attractions, restaurants…but we are a family of four meaning a very expensive holiday. The future will tell…

If you’re looking for a holiday or even a weekend break, check Dialaflight, you’ll find a lot of solutions for you at great prices.

Since Catherine’s surgery that we have the Sound of Silence around the house. The snoring and the apnea is gone. The awful snoring sound around the house at night is gone forever. She can now sleep quietly, breath without effort and silently.

I remember this feeling from when my son came out of surgery almost 6 years ago, for the same reason. I would get up several times a night to check if he was breathing. Catherine has been sleeping in my bed since surgery, it was a couple’s decision to check more closely on her recovery, and sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night just to check the Sound of Silence.

Right now, she is here next to me sleeping and the air just flows freely through her nose.

My dream is to have my own business, the problem is the initial investment we have to make and the risk of failure. Yes, I’m not a very optimistic person and I always think more about the “no” things than the “yes” things.

Some months ago I started making decoupage, for those who don’t know what it is is a craft technique. We use napkins and decoupage them in soaps, t-shirts, glass, wood, etc. It’s a low maintenance business and the investment is not very big. Paid posts came in the way and I ended up doing only a few articles for me and to offer as gifts for friends.

Right now, with my full time job, blogging and shortage of money, a business of my own is a mirage, a high risk investment right now. With a house to pay and two kids to feed, risk to start a business in the dark is out of question. However there are companies willing to help those wanting to start their own business or actually expand the existing one.

EZunsecured.com is a company that handles Small Business Financing issues we might have with our business or future business while we take care of other important matters regarding the management of the business itself. We don’t have to worry about getting a loan, credit line or credit cards, they will do it for us with no upfront funding fees. They have an excellent service provided through an easy process to get fast founding. This is a good solution for those with a project and ready to start a small business.

For now I will continue with my dream and who know, one day, I will get the courage to invest and start my own business.

My desktop is broken again. It was in the technician store back in September/October for 6 weeks, they placed a new mother board and a new hard disk (250 GB). The hard disk is full of errors now and once it was placed as part of a repair the guarantee only works for 3 months and…the repair guarantee finished on January 14th.

My BIL is the person taking care of the computer repair now and he told me to buy a new hard disk. As we don’t know if the CPS is causing the hard disk failure, he advised me to buy a new one too. Although very short of money my only option to have my computer working was to buy a new hard disk (160Gb - that’s enough for me) and a new CPS. So today, during my lunch break I went to the electronic shop and bought those accessories. Since I bought the computer 2 years and a few months ago I always had problems with it.

I hope to have it back till the end of the week but I can’t pressure my BIL because he’s doing the favor of repairing it for free.

I’m back to work. Catherine is back to school. I’m back to my old routine. I couldn’t sleep all night thinking I had to go back to work.

The day started the worse way possible, Catherine not wanting to get dressed, I moaned at her she cried, I got nervous. I took them to school and then went to the office. Dani was having tooth ache I I gave him a pain killer.

At lunch time I went to school to check on him and I saw his tooth was having an infection. I called the dentist and the appointment was schedule for 9pm.

I went home and before I had time to eat, I received a phone call from my husband saying his car was broken and I had to meet him and take him to work. I headed to daycare to leave some more meds for Dani, pick up husband y left me in the office and went to work.

He picked me up, already with the kids, at 18.30 and we went to my parents house to pick up her car. The car isn’t really working so it’s staying in a local supermarket parking lot all night and tomorrow I have to call the insurance truck to take the car to the mechanic, who happens to be my FIL.

Dentist (not his regular one) saw Dani’s tooth and as his doctor will be given appointments on Thursday, we have to go back again on Thursday.

As you can see I had a very interesting day…as usual, and no time to twitter or blog. I’m back to real life.

I’m writing this post from a birthday party. This is the first time I get my laptop out of the house and there is no internet connection over here. I’m writing offline and I’ll post later.

This is a birthday party my daughter is attending as well as a neighbor girl that came with me. My son stayed at home with my neighbor boy that has the syndrome and wasn’t able to attend this party. This party is being held in a activity center that is not suitable for the efforts my neighbor can make.

My daughter is now waiting in line to get her face painted and I have my camera prepared to take a picture.

Someone just asked me how can I be in the computer while everybody is watching the kids playing. Well, they are playing and as I usually never have time for myself, I’m having it now. Everybody is chatting, the music is too loud, my head ….

That was it; this was the post I wrote there. Yes there, because I’m already home. A friend approached the table where I was and started chatting with me and I wasn’t able to continue to write.

Of course it’s always good to catch up with friends the problem is…we always end up talking about diseases and sick people. Although it’s nice a good conversation the subject is not the appropriate one.

Regarding the party, Catherine got half of a butterfly painted on her face because when she was being painted it was time to sing “Happy Birthday”.

The girls had a wonderful time and that was the objective, so mission accomplished.

**This post was written yesterday but due to internet problems, is only being published today. As you can see I can’t make plans, everything goes the wrong way. Even the camera was against me and the flash didn’t work.

I was waiting to transfer the photos from my camera to the computer to write this post. Unfortunately the photos are not good in fact we can’t see a thing.

Wednesday it was Dani’s swimming class. He goes in the school bus to the local swimming pool to have his class. As I’ve been at home with Catherine I took the opportunity to assist his class. We were in a corridor along the swimming pool and we could look through the glasses. I took a few photos but the flash reflected in the glass and we barely see the water.

No photos but I have this moment on my head and he was happy that I was there and I’m happy because I was able to do something I can’t do when I’m working, keep in touch with my kids activities.
